Question: How long did it take for King David and his men to carry the Ark from Mount Moriah/Mount Zion to Jerusalem?
Where was the Ark when David went to get it?
Google; The Ark successfully comes to Jerusalem. So David went and brought up the Ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. And so it was, when those bearing the Ark of the LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep.
Comment:
The Ark had been captured by the Philistines for a period, who placed it in the temple of their god “Dagon”; but each morning Dagon was on its face, in a worship position before the Ark.
The Levitical priests also had to learn to be obedient and reverent near the Ark, and not to touch it out of order, or they would die, which did happen. This showed the Importance and Gravity of the COVENANTS to God!
When it was placed in the house of a friend of David, the house flourished for the duration.
David eventually collected the Ark to transport to Jerusalem; and “danced” before it all the way. His wife saw his expression and despised him for it; she then became barren for her whole life for her sin!
Postscript:
Much has been made of the “lost Ark of God”; and even popular films have been made regarding its position. The Ethiopian Jews say that they have it, but it has not been seen.
Revelation 11:19 states that it is with God in His Temple; and it is the opinion of the writers that it will not be on Earth again, but will remain in God's Domain. The “Covenant” of (Christ Jesus' Body) will return to Earth, and the New Covenant of Jer. 31-34, will be inaugurated by God the Father, as the Jews become "New Israel" as shown in Ezk. 39:21-29 completed by the acceptance of the Jews as seen in Zech.12:10!
